yeah Guffman is great. The nut scene alone kept me laughing throughout the entire film…

“Guffman” is the best of all of them. Which is saying a lot since they are all brilliant. Check out Guests and Billy Crystal’s skits on SNL.

CG is good in Princess Bride, but he’s only in that for so many scenes.
nothing can beat Spinal Tap with all those STUPID things the bandmates say/claim. especially after learning there was no script and it was almost totally improvised.

I LOVE Guffman! I think it’s whatever movie you see first that sticks with you forever.

I agree. “Guffman” is my least favorite Guest film. Didn’t care for it at all.

Agreed. There isn’t ONE fall-down laugh in ANY of them. Mildly amusing at best. Especially Mighty Wind where every scene had potential but didn’t produce. The fact they don’t have a script explains a lot. Spinal Tap was the the one and only funny film.

I love, err worship, all his movies except for Guffman. There’s a few good scenes in there, all involving Fred Willard, but other than that it fails on the whole. Consideration is also now up to par with the others, but it’s definitely a good repeated watch!

i think for your consideration was more of a story being told than comedy. i met nina conti once (the british lady with the monkey puppet) who told me he cut a lot of himself improvising about the lighting that seemed like genius to her and she’d been so excited thinking it was gonna be the funniest yet but then it wasn’t included. i get the impression he was tryna say something in this one. also he’s modest n humble to a fault.

With all due respect to Chris and Ricky, “For your consideration” sucked hard and not in a good way. After the brilliant “Guffman”, “Best in Show”, and “Wind”, “Consideration” was a bore and a disappointment.
