All you need is a Hydrogen Powered stationary engine to keep the batteries charged. Hydrogen is generated from the electrolysis of water from the batteries.

All I’m saying is that it’s not a green car. The electric that would power it would come from power plants, and coal burning….How is that green…I hate how stupid people will believe this is green, just because it’s marketed that way. For example the Prius which is marketed as a green car, was for found to be more destructive to the environment then a land rover discovery…lol…People need to wise up.

I understand your point. However, as this sort of power becomes more common, power plants can begin to generate power from green sources (like solar, water, even maybe wind). Progress may seem slow, but it’s better than not talking about green efforts.

It’s greener than a gas car. Most people don’t think about the fact that you have to power gas pups, stations, and etc with the same power it’s using. Oh did I mention the diesel driven semi-trucks who use power plants to pump their gas, so they can deliver yours? What about the boats that deliver petrol throughout the world? The amount of energy used just scooting gasoline around is astounding…so in my opinion it is a VERY VERY GREEN car.

Gas stations are essentially mini grocery stores so the power they use is negligible.If we switch to electric power, the stations will sell electricity.Also keep in mind the oil that ships are carrying around the world go on to make many more products than just gasoline such as plastics, medicines, etc. Also, gasoline within the US is distributed via pipelines when traveling long distances. Personally, I would like to see more efficient diesel cars in the US.

Where do you think you get the plastics, and the nickel for the special batteries, and the other metals, and how do you get the materials to england for battery building, then to china for the plastics, and then to japan for building, and finally to America. Well those same old boats that you where saying where bad. The internal combustion engine is still the greatest way to move, but people like you are giving up on it. Euro cars are manage to have good mpg…lol

Acesquadron: it’s not the others that need to wise up! You’re the one who’s being duped! If someone trashes EVs, even if it defies logic, you wanna buy into it, when in fact. We are limited to only about 100 words on these comments so it’s nearly impossible to reply to your nonsense, but you have not done your homework– both your comment about EVs being dirtier than ICEs as well as the Range Rover tripe were started by those with an ax to grind, & both have been solidly refuted– google it!

Deucesquadron: Your first-grade-level spelling, grammar & punctuation betrays your lack of education and willingness to use some discipline, & actually study something in depth to actually understand issues and recognize when someone’s giving you a snow job.

EVs are FAR more efficient and have much lower carbon footprints than even the thriftiest ICE cars, especially when you consider that most of the fuel used to push an ICE car becomes waste heat that you get no power from (cont’d 1)

DeuceSquadron (cont 1) EVs such as the BMW Mini E have no moving parts other than the wheels themselves– no reciprocating pistons that lose enormous amounts of power with each stroke… hundreds of moving parts with enormous amounts of drag with hundreds of square inches of metal-to-metal contact– cams scraping, pumps pushing heavy fluids through galleries with enormous drag, valves popping, etc. ICEs only get about 12% efficiency from their fuel, whereas electric motors can get (cont’d 2)

Deuce Squadron: (cont’d 2) efficiencies of up to 96%– just 2 tiny bearings supporting the rotor spinning on its own center of gravity, & you can get by w/ a far simpler tranny or no tranny– no reverse needed, & no clutches wearing out at all times you’re idling in gear wasting gas. EVs don’t need to idle, don’t need mufflers, catalytic converters, air filters, oil filters, oil pumps, etc. all of which rob power– far simpler, far more efficient– EV mileage is over 100 mpg equiv. DeuceSquadron: (cont’d 3) EVs get their “fuel” from highly efficient, silent power grids, not from huge, smelly, noisy tanker trucks that congest our freeways & require drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, support crews, and use lots of fuel all on theri own, effectively cutting in half the actual efficiency of your gas guzzler!

Many EV owners have solar panels on the roofs of their homes that they use to charge their cars, costing virtually nothing to drive.

None of our electricity comes from foreign oil as your gas guzzler does, oil that requires enormous energy to pump from the ground and ship here. Much of our power comes from hydro, wind, solar and other cleaner sources.

So much more to refute your tripe, but next time, check your facts- when you try to use ridiculous claims from oil cos. re: Range Rovers to make a point, you only show yourself to be a fool.
